At this time, the Mississippi Department of Health will not be allowing out of state patients to become certified for medical marijuana.

To get certified for your medical marijuana card you will need a Mississippi Driver’s License or State-Issued ID Card.

Q: Am I allowed to grow medical cannabis in Mississippi?

A: Not at this time. Registered patients will need to obtain medical cannabis from one of the state-licensed dispensaries once they open in 2021.

Q: How much marijuana will I be able to purchase and possess as a qualified, registered Mississippi cannabis patient?

A: Registered patients will be able to purchase and possess up to 2.5 ounces of medical cannabis in a 14-day period.

Q: What is a caregiver?

A: A caregiver is a person age 21 or older who is selected by the qualifying patient as someone who is authorized to obtain and possess medical marijuana from state-licensed dispensaries on behalf of the patient, as well as provide assistance in the administration of medical marijuana.

Q: What are the qualifications to become a caregiver?

A: To become a Caregiver for the medical marijuana program in Mississippi, you must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Be a Mississippi resident
  • Register online with the state as a Caregiver
