Have Questions About Nevada Medical Cannabis?
Nevada Medical Marijuana Certification Process
The certification process in Nevada is similar to many other medical states. Patients will need to obtain a signed Attending Healthcare Provider Statement from a licensed medical marijuana doctor first in order to apply with the state for a medical card.
Schedule an appointment with a licensed medical marijuana doctor.
Speak with the doctor to find out if you qualify.
Obtain your Attending Healthcare Provider Statement and apply with the state.
Get your medical marijuana ID card and start purchasing at dispensaries!
The first step in getting your Nevada medical marijuana card is to be evaluated and certified by a state-licensed medical cannabis doctor.
It can sometimes be difficult for patients to find a doctor who will certify them. We currently offer online telemedicine visits that allow you to be seen by a medical cannabis doctor from the comfort and security of home, making the search for a physician easy for you.
If you believe that you have one of the qualifying medical conditions and have at least one type of proof, then you will most likely qualify. Our doctor can evaluate you, review any medical documentation you are able to provide, and issue your provider statement so that you can apply for your card.
The next step after being certified by a doctor is to apply with the Nevada Medical Marijuana Registry as a cardholder. In order to apply, patients will need to have:
- Attending Healthcare Provider Statement signed by a doctor
- NV state-issued valid photo ID
Once you're approved by our doctor, we'll issue your signed Attending Healthcare Provider Statement the same day. You will then need to apply with the NV Medical Marijuana Registry as a cardholder.
It can take up to 30 days for the state to approve or deny your application. Once approved, you can use your electronic approval letter to access dispensaries for up to 60 days until you receive your physical ID card in the mail. ID cards are typically received within 7-10 business days of being fully approved.
