FL Medical Card Requirements
To qualify for a medical marijuana card in Florida, you must be a resident of the state. There is no age requirement for patients; however, individuals under 18 must have a parent or guardian register as their caregiver to oversee their use and administration of medical marijuana.
To become a registered medical marijuana patient in Florida, you must be diagnosed with at least one of the following state-approved qualifying medical conditions or symptoms:
- Chronic nonmalignant pain: This refers to pain resulting from a qualifying medical condition that persists beyond the typical course of that condition.
- Cancer
- Epilepsy
- Glaucoma
- HIV/AIDS
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- Crohn’s disease
- Parkinson’s disease
- Multiple sclerosis (MS)
- Comparable medical conditions: Conditions of the same kind or class as those listed above.
- Terminal condition: Diagnosed by a physician other than the one providing the medical marijuana certification.
If you have a qualifying condition, gather your medical documentation, which may include:
- Medical records
- Pill bottles
- Office visit summaries
- A letter from your doctor stating your diagnosis
With this documentation, you are prepared to be evaluated by one of our certified medical marijuana doctors.
If you have a qualifying condition but lack medical documentation, don’t worry. Contact us at 240-356-1000 via call or text, and we will schedule you with a doctor who can diagnose your condition. Following the diagnosis, you will be seen by a doctor who can certify you for medical marijuana use. There are no additional charges for the diagnostic consultation.
During your appointment, our licensed FL medical marijuana doctor will evaluate your current health condition, review your medical history, and assess any documentation you provide. If you meet the criteria, the doctor will enter your information into the Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry on the same day. You will then receive an email with instructions to log in to the registry and apply for your Registry ID card.

Get your medical marijuana ID card and start purchasing at dispensaries the same day!
The first step in getting your Florida medical marijuana card is to be evaluated and certified by a state-licensed medical cannabis doctor.
It can sometimes be difficult for patients to find a doctor who will certify them. Our clinics will be open soon and we will also be offering online telemedicine evaluations for renewals, making the search for a physician easy for you.
If you believe that you have one of the qualifying medical conditions and have at least one type of proof, then you will most likely qualify. Our doctor can evaluate you, review any medical documentation you are able to provide, and issue your certification so that you can apply for your card.
Once a Florida medical marijuana doctor approves you and enters your information into the Medical Marijuana Use Registry, your next step is to log in and apply for your registry ID card. You have the option to submit either an online or paper application; however, we highly recommend applying online due to faster processing times and an overall easier process. To apply online, you’ll need:
- Entry into the state Medical Marijuana Use Registry by a qualified doctor.
- Proof of Florida residency.
- $75 processing fee.
Our doctor will enter you into the Medical Marijuana Use Registry upon your approval. Following your registry entry, you will receive follow-up emails from the state containing your username and temporary password, allowing you to log in and apply for your card.
The application process typically takes an average of 10 business days for approval or denial. Once approved, you will receive your registry ID card in the mail within 7-10 business days. With your card in hand, you can immediately access any dispensary in Florida to purchase medical marijuana products.
