Have Questions About New Hampshire Medical Cannabis?

New Hampshire Medical Marijuana Certification Process

The certification process in New Hampshire is similar to many other medical states. Patients will need to be certified by a doctor and entered into the state registry before being able to access dispensaries.

  • 1
Schedule an appointment with a licensed medical marijuana doctor.
  • 2
Speak with the doctor to find out if you qualify.
  • 3
Obtain your written certification and apply with the state.
  • 4
Get your medical marijuana ID card and start purchasing at dispensaries the same day!

The first step in getting your New Hampshire medical marijuana card is to be evaluated and certified by a state-licensed medical cannabis doctor.

It can sometimes be difficult for patients to find a doctor who will certify them. Our clinics will be open soon and we will also be offering online telemedicine evaluations for renewals, making the search for a physician easy for you.

If you believe that you have one of the qualifying medical conditions and have at least one type of proof, then you will most likely qualify. Our doctor can evaluate you, review any medical documentation you are able to provide, and issue your certification so that you can apply for your card.

The next step after being certified by a doctor is to apply with the New Hampshire Therapeutic Cannabis Program as a medical cannabis patient. In order to apply, patients will need to have:

  • Completed written certification issued by a doctor
  • One proof of New Hampshire residency
  • $50 application fee

Once approved by our doctor, we'll issue the completed written certification form the same day.  You can then submit this with your application to the state along with proof of New Hampshire residency and the application fee via postal mail or by dropping it off in person.

Mail or hand-deliver Applications to:

NH Department of Health and Human Services
Therapeutic Cannabis Program
29 Hazen Drive
Concord, NH 03301

Applications can take up to 3 weeks to process. Upon approval, you'll receive your registry ID card within 7-10 business days.

With New Hampshire being an at-will state and there not currently being any legislation in place that protects medical marijuana patients in the workplace, medical cardholders can still be administered drug screenings and receive disciplinary action regarding the results of drug screenings. For this reason, we recommend making sure you are fully aware of your employer’s policy regarding drug screenings and medical marijuana before moving forward with the process.
